New department head – isolated imposter?
Peter, a newly appointed head of department in a surveying firm was keen to make an impression and to resolve certain issues, but felt constrained by his lack of experience, particularly around leading and managing his fellow senior colleagues. We used coaching as a confidential place in which he could share his thoughts and concerns with an independent but informed third party, and we explored the practical steps he needed to take and the range of possible outcomes. He developed the confidence to approach the individuals concerned and resolve the issues which were holding his department back.
